Dump truck driver wanted! 

Starts at $16-18/hr, based on previous work experience

We are currently looking for a dump truck driver in the Columbia, SC area. 

***The position will begin immediately, however, there will be a 90 day probationary period for the position before becoming a permanent position ***

JOB SUMMARY

This position will be for a tri-axle dump truck driver. You will be responsible for hauling and unloading equipment. You will also need to load equipment (including chain down equipment per SCDOT regulations. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Operates tri-axle dump truck and other trucks
• Loads/unloads equipment onto trailers; Will be required to transport equipment and/or debris to job sites in the Columbia, SC metropolitan area.
• Inspects equipment to ensure proper and safe working condition; reports defects or required maintenance to the supervisor;
• Performs routine maintenance and cleaning of assigned tools and equipment;
• Performs all duties in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, laws, regulations, and standards of quality and safety;
• Provides leadership to or assists co-workers with various duties as required;
• Maintains accurate and complete work records as required; and
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

When not driving the truck, you may be required to:

• operate heavy equipment, perform manual labor 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:

• Must be able to pass a drug test
• Clean criminal record
• Minimum three (3) years of relevant prior experience
• Valid South Carolina Class “B” Driver’s License, class "A" is preferable
• Must be able to take direction and assist the maintenance supervisor
• Must be able to spend all day outdoors exposed to weather and stand for long periods of time
• Must be able to lift, daily basic physical exertion, such as bending and twisting, lifting, climbing, pulling, pushing, or carrying lower, and carry up to 75lbs (with or without the use of mechanical aids)
• Must have full use of hands and fingers, as there is the use of precision or semi-precision tools
• Must be able to work a minimum of 40 hrs/week
• Must abide by all safety rules and regulations
• Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work.
• OSHA certifications are a plus, but not necessary (30 hr training, trench shoring, confined space, and first aid)
